Maharashtra State Board Reopens Registration for Private Candidates for JulyAugust 2025 Exams

By Abhyspeeth News Desk | April 12, 2025

In a welcome move for students who missed the February-March board exam cycle, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has reopened the registration process for private candidates. This initiative will allow eligible students to appear for the July-August 2025 SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) examinations, ensuring they do not lose an academic year.

The registration process will be conducted online through the official website mahahsscboard.in and will remain open from April 15 to May 15, 2025. Candidates must fill out Form No. 17 and submit the printout along with required documents and fee payment acknowledgment to the designated school or junior college mentioned in the form.

This is the first time the Board is offering a fresh opportunity for private candidates to appear in the supplementary exams, typically held only for repeaters. It is aimed at providing flexibility and academic continuity to students who, due to various reasons, were unable to register in time for the earlier session.

Students who have completed Class 5 or Class 8 through the Maharashtra State Open School Board are also eligible to apply for the SSC exam. Upon successful registration, candidates will receive a digital certificate, after which they can proceed to complete the exam form and fee payment.

The Board has made it clear that only regular fees will be accepted during this window—there will be no provision for late fee submissions. All applications must be submitted online; offline submissions will not be entertained.

MSBSHSE has also advised candidates and schools to go through the updated exam guidelines carefully to ensure smooth processing.
