School Education Department Signs MoU with Shantilal Muttha Foundation for ValueBased Education in Maharashtra

Mumbai: To promote value-based education among school students, the Maharashtra School Education Department has launched the ‘Mulyavardhan 3.0’ initiative. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) regarding this initiative was signed today in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde between the School Education Department and the Shantilal Muttha Foundation.

Lauding the initiative, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that ‘Mulyavardhan 3.0’ is an excellent step that will have a positive impact on students. He directed that the MoU be implemented immediately to ensure timely execution.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at Sahyadri Guest House and was attended by School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse, Water Conservation Minister Sanjay Rathod, Shantilal Muttha, founder of the Shantilal Muttha Foundation, industrialists Vallabh Bhanshali and Atul Chobre, Principal Secretary Ranjitsingh Deol, School Education Commissioner Sachindra Pratap Singh, and Director of Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training (MSCERT) Rahul Rekhawar.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Fadnavis emphasized that value education is crucial for students. He recalled the enthusiasm shown by teachers during earlier training programs and noted that with improvements, the ‘Mulyavardhan 3.0’ initiative would now be implemented across the state, helping students grow into responsible, sensitive, and capable citizens of a democracy.

During the program, Shantilal Muttha provided detailed insights into the structure and implementation strategy of the ‘Mulyavardhan’ initiative.

Key Features of ‘Mulyavardhan 3.0’:

Massive Reach:
Through the training of around 5 lakh teachers across 1 lakh schools, approximately 1 crore students in Maharashtra will benefit from value-based education.

Comprehensive Implementation:
The MoU paves the way for the official and widespread implementation of value-based education across the state.

Largest Value Education Initiative:
‘Mulyavardhan 3.0’ will be the largest value education project in the country and will serve as a guiding model.

Teacher-Centric Approach:
The initiative focuses on transforming teaching-learning methods, introducing new activity books, and creating opportunities for students to internalize values.

Alignment with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020:
The content has been updated to align with the new National Education Policy and National Curriculum Framework.

Updated Activity Books:
New activity books for Classes 1 to 8 have been updated and will be available in Marathi, Hindi, and English, ensuring consistency with the state curriculum framework.
