Mumbai: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) announced the ICSE Class 10 results today, marking a day of celebration for thousands of students across the country. Among the standout performers is a student from Maharashtra, who has achieved an extraordinary 100% score, placing them in the elite list of just three students across India to do so.
This rare academic feat is being celebrated not just by the student’s school and family but also by educators and policymakers across the state. According to CISCE data, girls have once again outperformed boys in terms of pass percentage, with Maharashtra registering a higher-than-average success rate across urban and semi-urban schools.
The topper from Maharashtra, whose name is expected to be officially released by the school later today, is reported to have excelled across all subjects including Mathematics, Science, Literature, and Social Studies — reflecting not just subject command but a balanced academic approach. The student has also been active in co-curricular activities, making the achievement even more commendable.
Education experts note that this performance is a positive indicator of the growing quality of education in Maharashtra, particularly in ICSE-affiliated schools. Many schools in Mumbai, Pune, and Nashik reported students scoring above 95%, with a significant increase in the number of distinction holders compared to 2024.
State Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse congratulated all successful students and highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to promote academic excellence, including curriculum upgrades and teacher training.
Principals from leading ICSE schools have praised the dedication of teachers, parents, and the resilience of students who prepared under the pressure of evolving syllabi and post-pandemic adjustments.
