New Delhi: The NEET UG 2025 exam was successfully conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 4, 2025, from 2 PM to 5 PM, with over 22 lakh students appearing for the paper-based test. The exam included 180 questions across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, and early student reactions suggest a moderate overall difficulty, with significant variation across subjects.
Subject-Wise Student Experience:
Physics – The Most Challenging: Many students found the Physics section tough and time-consuming. Questions were heavily numerical and focused on Electrostatics, Magnetism, and Semiconductor Electronics. For about 30% of students, this section was the toughest, requiring strong conceptual clarity and quick calculation skills.
Chemistry – Balanced But Tricky: Chemistry came across as balanced yet challenging. Topics like Organic Chemistry and the d & f-block elements were heavily tested. While Inorganic Chemistry was largely NCERT-based, Physical Chemistry had calculation-heavy questions, especially in reaction mechanisms. Around 40% of students rated Chemistry as moderately difficult.
Biology – Most Scoring and NCERT-Based: The majority of students (around 65%) breathed a sigh of relief with Biology. Questions were direct and mostly NCERT-based, with strong emphasis on Genetics, Human Physiology, and Ecology. Many said this section gave them confidence, as it was the most straightforward among the three.
NEET 2025 Answer Key Release: NTA is expected to release the provisional answer key by the fourth week of May 2025. Students will get a 4–5 day window to raise objections, if any. The final key will be used to evaluate results.
