Mumbai : The Hyderabad (Sind) National Collegiate (HSNC) University has officially released its first cut-off list for undergraduate admissions for the academic year 2025–26. As expected, Mumbai’s top colleges under HSNC University—KC College and HR College—have witnessed some of the highest cut-offs, particularly for commerce and professional courses, setting the stage for intense competition among applicants.
For popular commerce streams such as B.Com, BAF (Accounting & Finance), BFM (Financial Markets), and BBI (Banking & Insurance), cut-offs are hovering around the 95% mark. These figures indicate a sharp demand among high-scoring students aiming for limited seats in prestigious colleges.
Interestingly, the cut-off for the BA in Multimedia and Mass Communication (BAMMC) program, which is open to both arts and commerce students, has seen a slight dip compared to last year, suggesting a shift in student preferences or a saturation in media-related fields.
In the science stream, competitive programs like BSc in IT and Biotechnology have shown moderate variations in cut-offs. However, KC College’s BSc Applied Psychology and related subjects continue to remain in high demand, with cut-offs stabilizing at around 96.20%.
One of the most notable changes this year has been in emerging fields. The BSc in Data Science, offered under the university’s School of Applied Sciences, has shown a major leap in popularity. The cut-off has jumped to 86%, a significant increase of over 5% compared to last year, reflecting the growing interest among students in tech-driven, career-oriented programs.
According to admission officials, this year’s trend suggests a clear tilt toward interdisciplinary and industry-relevant programs, especially those combining data, finance, and applied sciences. “We’re seeing students with very high scores diversifying beyond traditional courses and choosing programs that offer better placement potential and future-readiness,” said a senior faculty member from HR College.
As HSNC University operates under the cluster university model, admissions are being conducted across various autonomous colleges like KC, HR, and Bombay Teachers’ Training College, offering students a wide range of academic pathways.
Students who meet the first cut-off criteria must complete the verification and admission formalities within the stipulated deadline. Further rounds of cut-off lists will be released depending on seat availability and withdrawal of admissions.
For students aiming to secure seats in high-demand courses, the next few days are crucial. Admission experts advise students to keep their documents ready, follow college-specific instructions carefully, and stay updated with official announcements on the HSNC University website.
