Technical Glitches Continue to Plague 11th Admission Process in Maharashtra

Abhyspeeth News Desk

Mumbai : The much-awaited online admission process for 11th standard students across Maharashtra continues to face serious technical issues for the fourth consecutive day, causing widespread frustration among students and parents alike.

Since the process began on May 26, students have been struggling with several problems — including not receiving login IDs and passwords necessary for application, slow website speeds, and incomplete application form access. Every day, nearly two lakh students attempt to fill out the online form, but recurring glitches are making the process feel like a tightrope walk.

On Thursday, many students reported that they did not receive the login credentials even after multiple attempts. Some who did manage to receive them got error messages stating that someone else had already logged in using their ID. Moreover, several students who completed Part 1 of the form found that Part 2 was not loading at all.

The number of registered applications has seen a noticeable drop since day one:

May 26: 2,58,887 students registered

May 27: Dropped to 2,07,612

May 28: Declined further to 1,44,057

May 29: Slight recovery to 1,51,733

As of now, a total of 7,62,289 students have attempted registration, but only 5,81,776 students have successfully paid the application fee, indicating that technical problems are affecting completion rates.

Due to the failure of the SMS system to deliver credentials and poor response from the helpdesk numbers provided on the official portal, many students and parents have started visiting the office of the Deputy Director of Education directly with their complaints.

However, the helpdesk unit established at the department is receiving 40–50 complaints every day and appears helpless, as it does not have the authority to resolve system-level technical issues. All they can do is escalate the complaints to the Director of Education’s office in Pune.

When contacted, Education Director Mahesh Palekar acknowledged the problem and assured that he would look into the issue urgently and take necessary action. Despite these assurances, technical hurdles remain unresolved, deepening the anxiety of lakhs of students and their families during this crucial admission period.

The state education department is under increasing pressure to fix these glitches promptly, as the admission deadlines are drawing near and students fear losing opportunities due to no fault of their own.
