New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur declared the much-awaited results of JEE Advanced 2025 today, bringing both relief and excitement to over 1.8 lakh aspirants across the country. This year’s top rank has been secured by Rajit Gupta from the IIT Delhi zone, who scored a phenomenal 332 out of 360 marks, clinching All India Rank (AIR) 1.

The results were published on the official website jeeadv.ac.in and include individual subject-wise marks, cutoffs, and qualifying status. With Rajit’s exceptional performance, the IIT Delhi zone has once again proved its academic dominance in the national rankings.

This year’s JEE Advanced examination, conducted on May 26, witnessed participation from over 1.80 lakh candidates across India and select international centers. Out of these, approximately 42,670 candidates have qualified for admission into India’s premier engineering institutions — the 23 IITs.

According to reports, Rajit Gupta demonstrated consistent excellence across all three subjects — Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics — with particularly strong performance in Physics, where he scored close to full marks. His disciplined preparation strategy and focus on fundamentals are being widely appreciated by educators and peers alike.

Zone-wise toppers reflect a healthy spread of talent across the country. Among them, Ananya Desai from the IIT Bombay zone emerged as the top-ranking female candidate, securing AIR 5 with a total of 321 marks. Other high scorers include Rithvik S. (AIR 3) from IIT Madras zone, Mehul Singh (AIR 11) from IIT Kanpur zone, and Aryan Negi (AIR 13) from IIT Roorkee zone.

With the declaration of results, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will now begin the counselling process from June 5, 2025. Qualified candidates are expected to register online and fill in their choices of IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs based on their preferences and ranks. The first mock seat allotment will be released on June 12, providing students with an idea of seat trends and likely cutoffs before the final round begins.

Education experts have noted that the paper this year was relatively well-balanced, with Physics being slightly more challenging than other sections. Professor Vikram Shelar, a senior JEE faculty mentor, stated that the paper “tested concept clarity and time management more than rote learning,” making Rajit’s top rank a testament to strong fundamentals and clear strategy.

As the admission season moves forward, all eyes are now on JoSAA rounds, cutoff announcements, and branch-wise seat availability. Students are advised to carefully analyze last year’s trends, keep their options open across IITs and other top institutes, and consult experienced mentors to make informed decisions.

The JEE Advanced 2025 topper list, along with complete result statistics and category-wise cutoffs, is now available on the official portal. Candidates can download their scorecards by entering their roll number, date of birth, and mobile number.

With over 42,000 students qualifying and the competition getting tighter each year, this result marks not just an academic milestone, but the beginning of a critical decision-making journey for students and parents alike.
