Mumbai: In a significant development aimed at boosting enrolments in undergraduate professional courses, the Department of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, has decided to conduct an additional Common Entrance Test (CET) for the academic year 2025–26. This supplementary CET is specifically for courses such as BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration), BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications), BBM (Bachelor of Business Management), and BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies).
The move comes in response to a lower-than-expected number of applications received for these courses in the initial round of CET registrations. To ensure that interested students get another opportunity to secure admission in these highly career-oriented programmes, the State Common Entrance Test Cell has reopened the registration process.
According to the official notification released by the CET Cell, the registration window for the additional CET has been made live and will remain open until June 20, 2025. Interested candidates can visit the official website of the Maharashtra CET Cell to complete their application.
Key Details:
Courses Covered: BBA, BCA, BBM, and BMS
Reason for Additional CET: Low response in earlier registration rounds
Last Date for Registration: June 20, 2025
Mode of Registration: Online through the official CET portal
Educational experts have welcomed this decision, stating that it provides a second chance to students who might have missed the initial deadlines or were undecided about their course preferences. These programmes are considered ideal for students aiming for careers in management, IT, and business administration, and offer strong placement opportunities and pathways for further studies such as MBA, MCA, etc.
Students and parents are advised to carefully go through the eligibility criteria and ensure timely registration to avoid last-minute technical issues. The CET Cell is expected to release the exam schedule and syllabus for the additional CET shortly after the registration period closes.
