The National Insurance Company Limited (NICL), a prominent public sector general insurance company under the Government of India, has invited online applications for the recruitment of 266 Administrative Officers (AO) across Generalist and Specialist cadres. The recruitment drive is expected to attract thousands of aspirants eyeing a stable and reputed government job in the insurance sector.
As per the official notification, the online application window opened on June 12, 2025, and will remain open till July 3, 2025. Candidates are required to submit their applications and pay the requisite fees through online mode only. No offline applications will be accepted.
The selection process will comprise two phases of online examinations. The Phase I Preliminary Examination is scheduled to be held on July 20, 2025, while the Phase II Main Examination is tentatively slated for August 31, 2025. The call letters for Phase I will be available for download prior to the exam, and updates will be notified through the official website.
The recruitment includes a total of 170 vacancies for Generalist Officers and 96 vacancies for Specialist Officers. The Generalist category has the largest share, with 68 posts for Unreserved (UR) category, followed by 47 for OBC, 26 for SC, 12 for ST, and 17 for EWS candidates.
In the Specialist category, vacancies are distributed across five disciplines: Doctors (MBBS), Legal, Finance, Information Technology, and Automobile Engineering — each with 20 posts. Additionally, backlog vacancies have been announced in Finance, Automobile Engineering, and the Medical discipline. The distribution includes provisions for all major reservation categories as per government norms.
NICL has also announced that the detailed recruitment advertisement will be published in the Employment News dated June 21, 2025, which will contain eligibility criteria, exam structure, syllabus, pay scale, and other important instructions. Interested candidates are advised to carefully read the detailed notification before applying.
