Pune :Success in life is achieved through continuous effort, dedicated intent, and a clear purpose, said Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan while addressing students at the International Convocation Ceremony of Symbiosis International University in Pune.
In an inspiring speech, the Governor urged graduating students to approach life with determination and consistency. “There will be moments of fatigue and disappointment,” he noted, “but one must not stop. Every effort shapes life. A joyful mind fuels energy, and one must learn to enjoy the work they do,” he added, wishing students success as they step into their future.
The convocation ceremony was graced by dignitaries including University Founder and Chancellor Dr. S.B. Mujumdar, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, Vice Chancellor Dr. Ramakrishnan Raman, Governor’s Secretary Dr. Prashant Narnavare, and Registrar Dr. M.S. Shejul.
Highlighting India’s growing importance in the global workforce, Governor Radhakrishnan said that many countries, particularly those with large populations, are looking toward India to fulfill skilled manpower needs. He encouraged students to seize this opportunity and be prepared for global competition.
To support this vision, the Governor stated that Maharashtra universities are being encouraged to introduce short-term foreign language courses in German, French, Japanese, Mandarin, Spanish, Italian, and others. “This will give our students a competitive edge in the global job market,” he said. He also noted that Pune — being a hub for automotive, media, and MSME sectors — presents numerous career opportunities for graduates.
Chancellor Dr. Mujumdar emphasized that Symbiosis International University functions with the ethos of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” — the world is one family. “We are proud that students from various countries come here to study in harmony and mutual respect,” he said.
During the ceremony, 82 students from 22 different countries were conferred degrees at the hands of the Governor. The university also released its updated information prospectus, highlighting its academic programs and global vision.
Pro-Chancellor Dr. Yeravdekar, in her opening remarks, provided an overview of the various initiatives and innovative programs currently running at the university.
