Mumbai: The State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell), Maharashtra, has officially begun the admission process for the B.Sc Nursing course for the academic year 2025–26. This announcement has brought relief to thousands of students who had been eagerly waiting since the entrance exam result was declared almost two months ago.
The B.Sc Nursing CET was conducted on April 8, 2025, with over 47,000 students registering for the exam. Out of these, 43,191 candidates appeared for the test. The results were declared on May 15, but there had been growing concern among aspirants over the delay in the start of the admission process. Finally, on July 8, the CET Cell opened the online application window, putting an end to the uncertainty.
Students can now apply for admissions by registering through the official CET Cell portal at https://cetcell.mahacet.org. The deadline for submitting applications is July 17, 2025. During this period, candidates are required to complete their application form, pay the necessary fees, and upload all required documents in original color-scanned format.
This year, more than 12,000 seats are available across government, private, and aided institutions offering B.Sc Nursing courses in Maharashtra. As part of the application process, students must upload documents such as their CET scorecard, mark sheets, category certificates, domicile certificate, and identification proof. Failure to upload valid and complete documents before the verification deadline may result in the cancellation of admission.
Before applying, students are strongly advised to thoroughly read the information brochure provided on the CET website to ensure they meet the eligibility criteria and understand the reservation policies. Any discrepancies or incorrect information in the application could lead to disqualification.
The CET Cell has also urged students not to wait until the last minute to apply, as technical issues or delays could interfere with timely submission. The detailed schedule for the next steps, including document verification, merit list, and seat allotment, will be announced soon on the CET portal.
The B.Sc Nursing course is a highly sought-after four-year undergraduate program that prepares students for careers in hospitals, public health services, defense nursing, and international healthcare sectors. With the healthcare industry witnessing rapid growth, nursing professionals are in increasing demand, both in India and abroad.
