In a major recruitment drive, the Ministry of Railways, Government of India, has officially released the Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 04/2025, inviting applications for over 30,000 Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) Graduate posts. The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have begun preparations to fill key positions across various zones, offering a golden opportunity to lakhs of graduate aspirants across India.
As per the notification, online applications will start from 30th August 2025 and the deadline for submission is 29th September 2025 (11:59 PM). This recruitment is being viewed as one of the biggest employment opportunities in recent years in the public sector, especially for graduates looking for stable, well-paying central government jobs.
This time, a total of 30,307 graduate-level vacancies have been announced under various designations such as:
Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor – 6,235 posts (Level 6, ₹35,400 pay)
Station Master – 5,623 posts (Level 6, ₹35,400 pay)
Goods Train Manager – 3,562 posts (Level 5, ₹29,200 pay)
Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist – 7,520 posts (Level 5, ₹29,200 pay)
Senior Clerk cum Typist – 7,367 posts (Level 5, ₹29,200 pay)
The upper age limit for all categories is 36 years as on 1st January 2025. Importantly, the Railway Ministry has also announced a one-time age relaxation of 3 years beyond the usual age limit to compensate for the disruptions and delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. This decision is likely to benefit thousands of candidates who were earlier ineligible due to the age cutoff.
The recruitment process will include a Computer-Based Test (CBT) followed by skill tests, medical fitness, and document verification depending on the post. Detailed syllabi, exam patterns, and region-wise vacancy distribution will be published soon on the official websites of the respective RRBs. Candidates are advised to apply only through the official RRB websites mentioned in Para 9 of the notification to avoid falling prey to fraudulent portals or misinformation.
This announcement comes at a crucial time when millions of youths across the country are seeking employment opportunities in the post-pandemic economic scenario. With the Indian Railways being one of the largest employers in the world, this recruitment is expected to witness massive participation.
