Pune : The state-wide online admission process for Class 11 (First Year Junior College – FYJC) will now move into its special round, starting today, Tuesday (Aug 12). This follows the conclusion of the “Open-to-All” round on Monday, in which a total of 3,24,761 students confirmed their admissions to junior colleges. Of these, 3,19,582 admissions were under the CAP (Centralised Admission Process) quota, while 5,179 students secured seats through quotas such as management and minority.
The special round has been introduced to give a final opportunity for students who either missed earlier rounds or wish to make corrections in their application forms. It will also benefit students appearing for the state board supplementary exams with ATKT (Allowed to Keep Term) status.
Special Round Schedule:
Aug 12–13: New student registration and corrections in Part 1 of the admission form; junior colleges to return unfilled seats from management/minority quotas to the general pool.
Aug 14: Display of vacant seats on the admission portal.
Aug 15–17: Eligible students to complete new registrations, edit applications, and fill preferences (Part 2 of the form).
Aug 19 (11 a.m.): Allotment list to be published based on students’ preferences.
Aug 19–20: Deadline for students allotted a seat to confirm admission at the respective junior college.
The School Education Department has clarified that this is likely to be the final admission opportunity for the academic year. Students and parents are urged to complete the process within the stipulated deadlines to avoid missing out on seats, especially in sought-after junior colleges.
Officials have also stated that while the Open-to-All round saw a strong response, a significant number of seats remain vacant across streams—Science, Commerce, Arts, and Vocational—particularly in suburban and rural colleges. The special round aims to fill these vacancies before the academic term progresses further.
