In a remarkable achievement, more than 50 students from government schools across nine states have earned the honor of representing India at Robotex International 2025, scheduled to be held in Estonia, Europe.
The selection came after the Robotex India National Championship 2025, hosted at MIT-ADT University in Pune, where over 5,000 students from 16 states participated. Impressively, nearly half of the participants came from rural, tribal, and government schools. Fourteen winning teams will now carry India’s flag on the global robotics stage.
The competition featured over 500 robots across categories like Girls Firefighting, Line Follower, Entrepreneurship Challenge, Mini Sumo, and Folk Race. Students focused on real-world challenges including agriculture, healthcare, disaster management, and environmental sustainability. Participants hailed from regions such as Phaltan, Aurangabad, Dadra-Nagar Haveli, Daman-Diu, Ladakh, New Delhi, Dehradun, Pune, Bengaluru, and Chennai, showcasing how technology can drive social transformation.
This initiative has been supported by several CSR programs, including STL RoboEdge Program, BMC India Girls Who Build Robots, ZS India, Globant India, WNS Cares Foundation, BNY Mellon, EY Foundation, and FICCI FLO Pune.
Robotex India Director Payal Rajpal said, “The success of these children is not just about skill, but about the perseverance to leap from remote villages to the global stage, carrying the dream of equality.”
Since its inception, Robotex India has trained more than 1.5 million students, established 500 Robotics-AI labs across the country, and guided over 7,000 government school teachers. The upcoming event in Estonia, celebrating its 25th year, is recognized as the world’s largest robotics festival. With participants from over 75 countries, Indian students’ participation will be a matter of national pride.
