Mumbai : After the conclusion of B.Sc. Nursing admissions under the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), the admission process for the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course — a key paramedical program under the Maharashtra State Health Department — has officially commenced. Students aspiring to join the GNM program must submit their applications by July 19, 2025, through the official CET Cell portal. The entire admission process, including merit lists and counseling, will be conducted online.
The GNM course provides comprehensive training in basic nursing and midwifery and is considered crucial for those aiming to build careers in general healthcare services, maternal care, community health, and hospital-based patient care. The course equips candidates with the essential clinical and interpersonal skills required to serve in both government and private health institutions.
This professional diploma-level program generally spans three years, followed by a six-month internship in a recognized hospital or healthcare facility.
