Mumbai : Today marks the final deadline for registration for the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and B.Tech courses in Maharashtra. The State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) has announced that candidates must complete their registration by 5 PM on July 14, followed by online document verification by July 15. The first provisional merit list will be published on July 24, 2025.
The engineering admission process through CAP had initially begun on June 28, with the earlier deadline set for July 8. However, due to a high number of incomplete applications, requests were made by students, parents, and institutions for an extension. Responding to this, the CET Cell granted a short extension to accommodate pending registrations.
Meanwhile, registration for MBA/MMS programs is also closing today, July 14. These merit lists, too, are scheduled to be released on July 24.

ME/MTech Admission Begins for Working Professionals
In a significant step to promote higher technical education among professionals, the CET Cell has also launched the CAP admission process for ME and M.Tech courses tailored specifically for working individuals. This initiative is open to employees working in registered industries, including private companies, public sector units, and MSMEs.
The admission window for this special ME/MTech category began on July 11 and will remain open until July 17. Notably, classes for these courses are scheduled in the evening or at flexible timings to suit the availability of working candidates.
The final merit list for ME/MTech working professional category will be announced on July 25, and counseling will follow as per the schedule.
This year’s CAP process comes at a time of intense competition and increasing interest in professional and technical education across Maharashtra. Engineering and management remain among the most sought-after streams, and the CET Cell’s efforts to extend deadlines and open flexible pathways for working professionals signal a move toward inclusive and adaptive education policy.
Aspiring students are urged to regularly check the CET Cell portal and complete their applications without delay.
