RRB Group D 2025: 32438 Vacancies Announced CBT Scheduled for JulyAugust

New Delhi: In one of the largest government recruitment drives of the year, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has announced 32,438 vacancies for Group D (Level-1) posts across various railway zones in India. This recruitment is a golden opportunity for candidates who have passed Class 10 or hold an ITI/NAC qualification and are aspiring to join the Indian Railways.

The posts under this recruitment include Track Maintainer Grade-IV, Pointsman, Assistant in Mechanical, Electrical, and S&T departments, among others. The application process concluded on March 1, 2025, and the Computer-Based Test (CBT) is scheduled to be held in July–August 2025.

Candidates aged between 18 to 36 years are eligible, with applicable age relaxations for reserved categories. The basic pay for these posts starts at ₹18,000 per month, in addition to various allowances as per government norms. The application fee was ₹500 for General/OBC candidates and ₹250 for SC/ST/Female/Transgender/PwBD, with the fee being refunded upon appearing in the CBT.

The selection process comprises three stages:

1. Computer-Based Test (CBT) – A 90-minute objective exam with 100 questions from Mathematics, Reasoning, General Science, and General Awareness.

2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – Candidates must clear a physical test based on their gender, including tasks like running and weight carrying.

3. Document Verification and Medical Examination – Final shortlisted candidates will undergo verification and a medical fitness test.

 

Vacancies are distributed zone-wise with major openings in Western Railway (Mumbai – 4,672 posts), Northern Railway (Delhi – 4,785 posts), Central Railway (Mumbai – 3,244 posts), and Southern Railway (Chennai – 2,694 posts) among others.

With over 32,000 positions up for grabs, this recruitment offers stability, a decent starting salary, and the prestige of working with Indian Railways. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official RRB portal www.rrbapply.gov.in for CBT dates, admit card release, and further updates.
