New Delhi: The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, has once again reaffirmed its status as India’s premier educational institution by securing the top position among Indian universities in the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings 2025.
In a proud moment for Indian academia, IISc stood tall with impressive scores in research quality, teaching, and international outlook. Notably, Anna University, Shoolini University, Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Sciences, Jamia Millia Islamia, KIIT, and Aligarh Muslim University also found places in the top ranks, showcasing the growing strength and global competitiveness of India’s higher education institutions.
Among private universities, Shoolini University emerged as the highest ranked in India, reflecting the rapid progress of non-government institutions in the academic and research ecosystem.
In the Medicine and Dentistry category, Saveetha Institute claimed the top spot among Indian institutions, followed closely by reputed names like JMI, AMU, BHU, and KIIT. These rankings are based on metrics such as teaching quality, research output, citations, international collaboration, and industry income.
This achievement highlights the increasing global recognition of Indian universities and underlines the importance of sustained investment in quality education, research, and innovation.
