
New Delhi: The State Bank of India (SBI) has once again opened the application window for the recruitment of 2964 Circle-Based Officers (CBOs) across various regional circles. Interested and eligible candidates now have time till June 30, 2025, to apply online through the official SBI website. This recruitment drive is a golden opportunity for banking professionals aiming for officer-level roles in India’s premier public sector bank.
According to the updated notification, the vacancies are spread across 16 circles, including New Delhi (49 posts), Lucknow (297 posts), Ahmedabad (294), Amaravati (186), Bengaluru (289), Bhopal (232), Bhubaneswar (110), Chandigarh (94), Chennai (151), North East (130), Hyderabad (233), Jaipur (218), Kolkata (193), Maharashtra (267), Mumbai Metro (105), and Thiruvananthapuram (116). Out of the total, 1003 posts are unreserved.
To be eligible, candidates must have a graduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university or possess equivalent qualifications. Those holding degrees in fields such as Medicine, Engineering, Chartered Accountancy, or Cost Accountancy are also eligible to apply. Additionally, applicants must have at least two years of experience as an officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank as on April 30, 2025.
The age limit for applicants is 21 to 30 years, calculated as on April 30, 2025. However, candidates belonging to reserved categories are eligible for age relaxation—5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwD candidates.
Selected candidates will receive a salary in the pay scale of ₹48,480 to ₹85,920, along with applicable allowances and benefits.
The selection process will include a written examination, followed by screening, interview, and a regional language test to assess the candidate’s proficiency in the local language of the applied circle.
The application fee is ₹750 for General, EWS, and OBC candidates, while SC/ST and PwD candidates are exempt from the fee. The payment must be made online through the payment gateway provided on the application portal.
To apply, candidates should visit the official SBI website at https://www.sbi.co.in, click on the ‘Careers’ tab, and navigate to ‘Current Openings.’ Under the ‘RECRUITMENT OF CIRCLE BASED OFFICERS’ section, they can download the full advertisement, check their eligibility, and then proceed to fill out the online application form by clicking on ‘Apply Online’.
The application form consists of six parts—Basic Info, Photo and Signature Upload, Detailed Information, Preview, Document Upload, and Payment. Upon successful payment, candidates must download and save the e-receipt and final application form for future reference.
