Hyderabad : The Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO) has invited applications for its Paid Internship Programme 2025 through its premier laboratory, Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Hyderabad. This internship opportunity is aimed at final-year undergraduate and postgraduate students in engineering and science disciplines, offering them a chance to work on cutting-edge defence research projects for a minimum period of six months.
The programme is open to Indian citizens with a strong academic background and is a golden opportunity to gain hands-on experience at one of DRDO’s most advanced labs, known as the Modern Avionics Hub of the country.
RCI has announced a total of 160 internship slots, split across two categories:
Undergraduate Category:
This category is open to students currently in their 7th or 8th semester of B.Tech in the following disciplines:
Computer Science / AI / ML / Cyber Security (Code: CS)
Electronics / ECE / EIE (Code: EC)
Mechanical Engineering (Code: ME)
Electrical Engineering (Code: EE)
Materials / Chemical Engineering (Code: CE)
Aeronautical Engineering (Code: AE)
Safety Engineering (Code: SE)
Selected students will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 and will work for a minimum of six months at the RCI campus in Hyderabad (PIN 500069).
Postgraduate Category:
This category is for students in the second year of M.Tech or M.Sc, in disciplines such as:
CSE, ECE, Mechanical, Electrical, and Power Engineering
Physics, Chemistry, VLSI, Embedded Systems, RF & Radar
Structural Analysis, IR Seekers, Lasers, Mechatronics, Robotics
Postgraduate interns will also receive ₹5,000 per month and will be required to commit to at least six months of project work at RCI Hyderabad.

Located in Vignyana Kancha, Hyderabad, Research Centre Imarat (RCI) is one of DRDO’s flagship labs, specializing in the development of avionics systems for missile and defence programmes.
